We’re delighted to be working with Westerleigh Group on a number of their crematoria sites across the UK, including Herne Bay, Arun and the New Forest in the South, Great Glen and Mercia in the Midlands and East Lothian and Bishopbriggs in Scotland.
The site at East Lothian will see the development of a new crematorium to serve the local area and the East of Edinburgh. Indigo prepared a landscape masterplan for the 12-acre site which was approved in October and will include a chapel, parking and extensive memorial gardens. We’ll be working with Westerleigh over the next few months to help sign off planning conditions and prepare a detailed hard and soft landscape tender and construction package for the site.
We’re also excited to see two projects, Mercia Forest in the West Midlands and Arun near Bognor Regis starting to look like memorial gardens after what has felt like an endless winter. Excellent work is being carried out at both sites, by McPhillips Limited and Jack Moody Landscaping at Mercia Forest and Mildren Construction and Archway Green at Arun, to transform what were recently a sea of mud into extensive lawns, planting areas and wild flower meadows.
