Green Business Association Salisbury award

We were delighted to receive a silver award from the Green Business Association (GBA) Salisbury

The Green Business Awards are a new initiative developed by Salisbury Transition City with the help of Salisbury City Council, Salisbury BID and Chamber of Commerce and they have been funded by the National Lottery, ‘Together for our Planet’.  They are designed to celebrate and promote local businesses that are making positive changes for the environment while providing support for those who would like to do more.  The aim is to encourage and inform businesses about simple ways to reduce their environmental impacts, helping them to make sustainable changes that support local and national climate targets.

At Indigo sustainability has always been central to the way we work and run our office and so we were able to demonstrate this to GBA in a number of ways including our use of a renewable energy provider(Ecotricity), our measurement and offset of our carbon footprint with World Land Trust, and our commitment to minimise waste within the office.  Sophia from the Green Business Association came to the office to review our application and we were able to show her our bike store which we recently installed as part of our Cyclescheme, our recycling area, compost bin and ethical and eco-friendly products that we use in the office.

We would encourage other local businesses to support the scheme, it is easy to complete the questionnaire and a very useful toolkit is provided with advice on how to implement further green changes.
