Lion Yard, Cambridge – public realm proposals

Indigo have worked up detailed public realm proposals for a highly sensitive scheme within Cambridge city centre’s Conservation Area. Despite the apparent simplicity, this has been a complex and challenging project to incorporate a new food and beverage quarter at Lion Yard, along with significant enhancements to the setting of the grade II listed St Andrew the Great Church. A carefully selected palette of surface materials has been proposed to reflect and respect the historic built fabric, while utilising contemporary design cues to ensure the scheme is also of its time.
