Hilton Bournemouth
Hotels and residential
That Group Limited / McAleer & Rushe Contracts UK
Location:Bournemouth, Dorset
Completion:Early 2016
Value of Works:c. £1,000,000 (external works)
A mixed-use development in the centre of Bournemouth comprising, a four-star Hilton, a Hampton hotel, and a residential block.
This was a highly complex and challenging project involving a ‘multi-layered’ landscape with very significant level changes, incorporating public realm design, roof terraces and intensive coordination with the design team.
Enhancements to the public realm were a particularly important element of the scheme, creating a setting for the development and providing wider streetscape benefits within the adjacent Conservation Area. The proposed palette of hard landscape materials was carefully selected to provide a strong, simple and unifying approach, complementing the architecture and making a positive contribution to the Bournemouth Public Realm Strategy.
Our role included the design and coordination of all detailed aspects of the external hard and soft landscape works and overseeing the implementation on site.
