A mixed use development including up to 1000 homes on the site of the former Stewartby Brickworks south of Bedford, this project involved the preparation of a full Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment as part of a wider EIA required for the project.

The heritage elements of the site and surrounding landscape were of particular importance, and working closely with the client and consultant team Indigo developed the landscape strategy for the project and also prepared a separate submission on the landscape and visual implications of demolishing and rebuilding the iconic ‘Stewartby’ chimney.

The site is currently allocated within the draft local plan, and we look forward to working on the detailed scheme in due course.
