Walcot Square Mews approved

We were pleased to hear that the landscape scheme for 6 new mews houses in Walcot Square has been granted planning consent by Lambeth Council subject to Section 106 agreement. The brownfield infill project, designed by FORMstudio, converts a former garage block into new rental houses to provide support for the Walcot Foundation charity. The mews-style houses are carefully arranged and designed to integrate with the site and the surrounding Conservation Area, retaining significant existing trees and using rear west-facing sunken gardens to provide additional living space without increasing building height. A strong simple pallet of hard landscape materials complements the architecture and provides a permeable surface to achieve the project’s Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) requirements.
