Walcot Square mews houses completed
It is always satisfying to see our work through to completion on site and we were delighted with the professional photographs taken by architectural photographer, Peter Cook, of Walcot Square in Lambeth, London, a small residential scheme that was approved in 2017 and has now been completed.
Indigo were appointed by The Walcot Foundation and worked alongside FORMstudio Architects on this small but high quality development in the Walcot Conservation Area which involved the demolition of existing garage buildings and the erection of a mews style terrace of five 2-storey 3 bed houses, and one detached 4 bed house (the ‘Garden House’), together with associated external works.
We developed a landscape concept along with hard and soft materials palettes to support the planning application. This required a careful and sensitive response, taking into account the Conservation Area, the adjacent Grade II listed buildings and the retention of a number of existing TPO trees. Following the approval of the application we were then asked to produced detailed planting proposals including a maintenance and management plan to discharge the relevant planning conditions.
